There are two sets of these pure silver medallions. One has 36 pieces and the other has 20. If there
are other sets with different numbers, I haven't seen them. The reverse of each medallion is the same,
but the obverses show different vessels of the IJN.
Each measures about 5 cm diameter and weighs 40 grams.
The artwork is very detailed and quite striking. A full set is expensive, but oftentimes single medallions
appear for sale.
The title of this set is 'Japanese Navy Warship, Limited edition Fine Art Medals/Medallions.' Although I
am not certain, I think that this set was made in Showa 60 [1985].
There is also a related series that shows Japanese military aircraft. I have no pictures at the moment.
